A useful fit for

A direct-drive comparison candidate for a rider who specifically wants the named Zwift Cog1.1 and Click V2 package for supported Zwift virtual shifting, after checking the bicycle, app and adapter details.

The main tradeoff

The Cog replaces a multi-sprocket cassette, and JetBlack says virtual shifting works only on Zwift; other app routines need a separately chosen compatible cassette. The trainer needs AC power and exact axle/frame fit checks, and all performance values here are manufacturer specifications.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the VICTORY V2 package include a cassette?

No cassette is listed. JetBlack names this package as VICTORY with Zwift Cog1.1 and Click V2: it is set up for supported Zwift virtual shifting rather than ordinary multi-sprocket shifting. For another training app, the manufacturer says to replace the Cog with a cassette selected for your drivetrain; that cassette is not included.

Which app can use VICTORY's included virtual shifting?

JetBlack says virtual shifting works only on Zwift. The trainer also lists other connection protocols, but those do not make the included Cog a cassette or establish virtual-shifting support in every app. Confirm current software, device and firmware support; install a compatible cassette for ordinary gearing in other app routines.

What is the VICTORY's published grade limit?

JetBlack lists up to 16% simulated grade, 1,800 W maximum power and ±2% power accuracy. Those are manufacturer-stated limits, not independent measurements or promises about how a particular route will feel. Check whether the numeric grade cap meets your need and verify your actual bike setup separately.

The exact VICTORY package matters more than the family name

This assessment is for JetBlack’s VICTORY Smart Trainer with Zwift Cog1.1 and Click V2, SKU JBT-VIC2-ZC-A. It is a direct-drive setup: the bicycle’s rear wheel comes off and its frame mounts to the trainer. The offer names a fitted Cog and included Click, not a conventional multi-sprocket cassette. JetBlack says the Cog suits almost any 8–12-speed bike for its intended use, but “almost any” is not a frame, chainline, axle or drivetrain guarantee. Confirm the bike’s standards against the manual, and check the retail box label rather than treating an older VICTORY Cog/Click V1 rework as this V2 configuration.

The Cog is a single-sprocket interface for virtual shifting, not a cassette that reproduces every mechanical gear on the bicycle. JetBlack states that virtual shifting works only with Zwift. Its instructions say a rider who wants a different indoor app should remove the Cog and fit a cassette selected for the bicycle; that cassette is not included. This is a real setup change, not just a different app setting: you may need a compatible cassette, spacer and the appropriate removal tools. Check that the chain, cassette spacing and freehub agree before selecting that route. The included Click controller is useful only within the supported Zwift experience, and a current subscription, device, app and firmware still need verification.

Mounting and setup remain bike-specific

JetBlack’s VICTORY instructions list 130 or 135 mm quick release and 12 × 142 or 12 × 148 mm thru-axle arrangements. The generic VICTORY box list names axle adapters, a quick-release skewer, a power adapter, assembly tools, bolts and a disk-brake block. That list is useful for planning but is not proof of what a specific seller shipment contains. Confirm the adapter set, axle length, dropout spacing and frame clearance for the actual bicycle. JetBlack warns against overtightening the drive-side adapter because it can damage the trainer bearings; the guidance is finger-tight, or 6 Nm with a torque wrench. The maker also cautions that its disk block may not fit every brake model.

Like other direct-drive trainers, this one needs a clear work area for removing and reinstalling the rear wheel, plus a way to store the wheel and keep the drivetrain clean. The trainer uses an external mains adapter for powered resistance. JetBlack lists the trainer at 16.5 kg and sets a 120 kg maximum rider-weight limit; these are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from this review. The power adapter is listed in the general VICTORY contents, but a buyer should still verify the exact regional box and supplied plug. JetBlack says it does not recommend e-bikes without consultation with the bicycle maker, particularly where rear-wheel torque sensors are involved.

Published limits and how to interpret them

JetBlack describes an electromagnetic brake with automatic app-controlled resistance and lists maximum simulated grade of 16%, maximum power of 1,800 W and power accuracy of ±2%. It also advertises a 10 Hz race-response mode. These are manufacturer claims and capability ceilings, not independently measured results, continuous-load guarantees, or a description of how every climb or interval will feel. The 16% figure is the relevant number if a specific workout requires a published grade threshold; it does not mean the trainer can recreate every road gradient or rider mass.

The maker lists Bluetooth FTMS, ANT+ FE-C, Zwift protocol and Wi-Fi. A Bluetooth bridge can pass compatible accessory data, while its odometer is available through the JetBlack app. The USB-C connector is described as ready for wired use, but JetBlack notes that training apps do not broadly support it yet; do not buy this setup assuming USB-C is a current universal connection. App choice, device limits and firmware can change the connection workflow, so confirm those details against the software you intend to use.

Calibration is not the same as a hands-off setup

JetBlack describes automatic spin-down calibration after the trainer freewheels for several seconds, and its manual still recommends a manual spin-down after unboxing, moving the trainer or seasonal temperature changes. The setup material recommends warming the trainer for roughly ten minutes before a manual calibration. It also warns that leaving more than one controlling app connected can result in conflicting commands and inconsistent readings; close the JetBlack utility before starting another platform when the instructions call for it. These operational steps are worth understanding before a race or structured workout.

Who should compare this version

The V2 Cog/Click package is a plausible fit for a rider who wants a wheel-off smart trainer with the named virtual-shifting hardware already installed and expects to ride on Zwift. It is less straightforward for someone who wants a cassette ready for several apps, cannot confirm axle and frame fit, needs resistance without mains power, or expects every listed connection mode to be supported by a preferred app. The key distinction is package identity: VICTORY Cog1.1/Click V2 is not the factory-reworked Cog/Click V1 offer and neither is a cassette-included package.

This is a source-based configuration review, not a hands-on test. The manufacturer’s U.S.-linked page displayed this exact SKU on the date checked, but no checkout or delivery was completed and no seller stock, unit condition, future availability or warranty outcome is claimed here. Before choosing it, confirm JBT-VIC2-ZC-A, compare the included Click version, check the exact bike and axle, verify the subscription and app conditions, and read the seller’s current shipment and return terms.
