JetBlack Factory-Reworked VICTORY V1 with Zwift Cog and Click review

An earlier VICTORY direct-drive Cog-and-Click package listed by JetBlack as factory rework from returned or demo units; its V1 controller package and purchase-condition terms differ from the current V2 listing.

Sources checked 2026-11-01 · Our editorial approach

Earlier factory-reworked VICTORY package: exact SKU JBT-VIC-ZC-A-REF includes Zwift Cog and Click V1, not the current Cog1.1/Click V2 package. The offer describes returned or demo units; the condition and warranty of a specific unit must be checked.

A useful fit for

A comparison candidate for a rider considering a manufacturer-listed factory-reworked direct-drive VICTORY with the earlier Cog and Click V1 package for supported Zwift use, while accepting the specific rework and warranty terms.

The main tradeoff

This is described as a pre-used return/demo rework, not a new V2 package. The manufacturer limits the refurbishment warranty to the country of purchase, excludes its 30-day change-of-mind return policy and says delivery is not included; the exact unit, purchase destination and box condition need checking.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

What does factory rework mean for VICTORY SKU JBT-VIC-ZC-A-REF?

JetBlack says the reworked VICTORY units are returns or demo models serviced and tested in its USA workshop and packed in new packaging. The page does not describe the history or condition of an individual unit, so verify the exact seller listing, included parts and serial-specific state before treating every unit alike.

Is the V1 package the same as VICTORY Cog1.1 and Click V2?

No. The rework page identifies Zwift Cog and Click V1 under SKU JBT-VIC-ZC-A-REF; the current offer is separately named Cog1.1 and Click V2, SKU JBT-VIC2-ZC-A. The source does not provide a measured trainer-performance comparison between those package versions. Both are Cog-based rather than cassette-equipped, and their exact Click/Cog generation should be checked on the box.

What uphill grade does the VICTORY V1 rework claim support?

The generic JetBlack VICTORY technical page lists a maximum simulated uphill grade of 16%, along with 1,800 W and ±2% as manufacturer specifications. It is not a test of this particular factory-reworked unit, and the figure does not certify a bike fit or route feel.

This is a reworked V1 package, not the V2 listing

JetBlack lists a factory-reworked VICTORY Smart Trainer with Zwift Cog and Click V1 under SKU JBT-VIC-ZC-A-REF. It is a direct-drive trainer offered as a returned or demo unit, not the standard current VICTORY Cog1.1/Click V2 configuration. The page says the reworks were serviced and tested in JetBlack’s USA workshop and packed in new packaging. That does not tell us the prior use, cosmetic grade, serial-specific condition or performance of any individual piece. Check the exact refurbishment description and unit condition before making a comparison.

The important confirmed distinction from the V2 listing is the included Cog and Click generation. The factory-rework page names V1, while the separate current listing names Cog1.1 and Click V2. The sources do not provide a controlled or measured performance comparison between those package generations, so this assessment does not claim a change in trainer power or ride feel. It treats the V1 label as a package and condition difference that should be verified on the carton and seller record.

The Cog is a Zwift setup, not a supplied cassette

The V1 package is supplied with a Zwift Cog and Click for the virtual-shifting path. The Cog replaces a normal multi-sprocket cassette; it does not give the bike its usual rear-derailleur range. JetBlack’s trainer information says virtual shifting is supported only on Zwift. For other indoor apps, its instructions recommend removing the Cog and installing a compatible cassette, which is not listed as included. That means the “ready” package is ready for a particular software routine, not a universal shortcut across every training app.

JetBlack describes VICTORY Cog use with 8–12-speed bicycles, but that broad range does not establish compatibility with every chain, frame, gear standard or exact bike. Verify the app and device support, confirm the drivetrain, and establish which cassette/freehub arrangement you would need if you plan to use software outside Zwift. The source also notes that ordinary cassette installation involves specific tools; a local shop may be useful if you do not already have them. Do not infer a Click V2 controller or V2 Cog from an image or a generic VICTORY search result: the V1 offer page and SKU are the evidence for the older package.

The shared trainer limits are manufacturer specifications

JetBlack’s VICTORY setup page and generic manual describe the trainer base as an electromagnetic direct-drive unit. The published maxima are 1,800 W and 16% simulated uphill grade, with stated power accuracy of ±2%. The manufacturer also lists 10 Hz response mode. These are maker specifications rather than measurements of the reworked example, an independent review test or a promise that every rider will experience those limits. A maximum grade number is useful for screening a workout requirement, but it cannot confirm an individual bike fit or quantify route feel.

The common VICTORY instructions list Bluetooth FTMS, ANT+ FE-C, Wi-Fi and Zwift Protocol, and describe automatic spin-down calibration. They also recommend manual calibration after setup, relocation or seasonal temperature changes, generally after warming the unit. The USB connection is described with app-support limits; the exact app workflow should be checked rather than inferred from a connector. Close competing control apps if you see inconsistent operation, since the manual warns against simultaneous control connections.

Check axle, power and bike before considering a rework

The manufacturer documents 130/135 mm quick release and 12 × 142/148 mm thru axle configurations. Its generic contents list includes adapters, a quick-release skewer, power adapter and tools, but the rework listing only says that functional and assembly parts are supplied. A buyer should ask which exact pieces are in the specific refurbished box and match them to the bicycle. JetBlack warns that overtightening the drive-side adapter can damage bearings; its instructions say finger-tight, or 6 Nm with a torque wrench. The included disk-brake block may not suit every brake caliper.

The trainer needs its AC adapter for powered resistance. JetBlack lists 16.5 kg and a 120 kg maximum rider weight for VICTORY; those are manufacturer figures. The manufacturer cautions about e-bike use and recommends checking with the bicycle maker where rear-wheel torque sensors are involved. If you require a cassette setup, a different app routine, a specific adapter or a guaranteed new unit, this rework package is a poor shortcut unless the exact seller answers those questions.

The refurbishment terms are part of the buying decision

JetBlack states a 12-month refurbishment warranty, says it is not transferable and limits it to the country where purchased. It also says its 30-day change-of-mind return policy does not apply to this purchase and that delivery is not included. These conditions are materially different from simply comparing two new Cog packages. Establish the purchase country, written warranty path, shipping charge, return options and condition of the individual unit before choosing it. The general help page says VICTORY availability varies by region and supply is limited; a listed offer is not a completed order or a future stock guarantee.

This assessment is based on the exact manufacturer rework page and shared VICTORY technical material, not ownership or hands-on testing. It belongs on a shortlist only if the earlier Cog/Click V1 package and factory-reworked condition are acceptable, Zwift is the intended virtual-shifting app, and the bicycle, box contents and local warranty can be confirmed. For a new V2 listing, compare the separate SKU JBT-VIC2-ZC-A instead of assuming the two pages describe identical packages.
